As you can see from this graphic, one-third of Americans aren’t getting enough sleep and 12-18 million adults have sleep apnea. The consequences are enormous – between 5,000 and 6,000 fatal crashes every year, over $50 billion in lost worker productivity, and 70% of high-school students not getting enough sleep.
The fact that sleep disorders are associated with a growing number of health problems including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and high blood add to the urgency of diagnosing and treating this condition in affected individuals.
